February fishing in Naples Florida!

We are in a strange time, what I mean by that is that we have not really had a winter, so the fish are not really where they should be right now. So here is the report for February 10th, 2013:

Inshore: its a great time for inshore fishing. Recently the Pompano have started to come in, and people are using pink, and chartreuse tube jigs to catch them. Plus, since the water is staying warmer there are  still some Snook around. In addition to the typical colder water fish like Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, and Sheepshead.

Tarpon season is either here, or almost here. February fourth, a 100 pound Tarpon was caught and released by one of the Captains at our marina. This is the earliest large Tarpon in recent memory.

Offshore: Grouper is closed, but now its Snapper season! Live shrimp will get you you limit of Mangrove and Lane Snapper offshore in the hard bottom. King Mackerel and Amberjacks are out there also.

If you have questions about fishing in Naples in February please give us a call!  If you want to book a charter, we can do that for you also. Tight lines and screaming drags, Captain Pete's.

Captains Brandon and Joe of the Solo Lobo GETTING IT DONE

So here in southwest Florida, especially in Naples,  its the best time of year to fish for Grouper. Red Grouper and Gag Grouper are both open, and there are guys at the Port -O - Call Marina that can put you on them!

You want some fish for dinner? The Solo Lobo will put you on them! You want to feed a family of 12? Brandon, Joe, and Eric can help you out with that too! Check this picture out, which was taken after a full day charter. Those aren't any Vietnamese fish substituting for Grouper there!

Now that is a good trip. You can reach the crew from the Solo Lobo at 239- 290 - 0532 or through the Internet at
